A belly dancer at a private party in Singapore is the guest everyone remembers. You can book one for a birthday, an anniversary, a house party, a dinner with friends in a restaurant or a themed night on a rooftop. A solo dancer is the usual choice for a private event, because she can perform close to the guests in a small space.
Cost: quoted for your party, based on the number of dancers, the length of the show and the date. See belly dancer prices in Singapore.
Birthdays
A birthday is a natural reason to book a private belly dance show. A good plan is a surprise: the lights dim, the music starts and the dancer walks in while the guest of honour is still at the table. After a few minutes she invites them up and teaches a couple of simple moves while everyone films. Then the cake comes out. Tell us the age group and the mood of the party, so the dancer can pitch the show right. A loud fortieth with old friends is different from a family dinner with grandparents at the table.
Anniversaries and dinners
For an anniversary or a dinner with friends, a shorter and more elegant show works better. Think of a slow opening with a silk veil and a lively finish. If you book a private room in a restaurant, ask the restaurant first whether a dancer can perform there, and whether music can be played in the room.
House parties and condo function rooms
Most homes have enough space once a coffee table is moved. The dancer needs a clear, flat floor, a little room to turn with a veil and decent light. A condo function room or a rooftop deck is easier still. Check the building rules on music and noise before you confirm the time.
Themed parties
A private party with a theme is where a belly dancer really fits. An Arabian Nights or 1001 Nights evening, a Moroccan dinner with lanterns, or a gypsy themed party. The costume colours and the music can match the theme. For live rhythm, add an Arabic drummer. See Arabian Nights belly dancers.
